To say the goal of strength training is to improve your ability to produce force is an overly simplistic view. Here are some of our favorite benefits of strength training:

Conditioning

Conditioning allows us to utilize our strength, power, and skill more effectively to accomplish a given task. That tasks can be anything from winning a game, winning a fight, playing with your kids, and/or living a long, happy, and fulfilling life.

Nutrition

Performance nutrition is not one dimensional. We don’t just eat for fuel. We understand that food is also based around:

  • Personal Taste
  • Emotions
  • Culture
  • Religion
  • Social Life

Recovery

When we train we stimulate a stress response. Training is only a small part of a comprehensive training program. Recovery is the rest of it. This considers:

  • A training program that you’re actually able to recover from
  • Nutrition habits
  • Sleep habits
  • Non exercise activity

Who is Coach Logan?

Logan started training martial arts in 2010 at Reign Training Center where he met his Coach Jason Manly, a Cesar Gracie black belt. 

Logan’s passion for Jiu Jitsu led him to excel as a martial artist and coach. In 2015 Logan started coaching kids Jiu Jitsu while taking his own training to the next level. 

During this time, Logan was a training partner for elite athletes such as Marvin Vettori (UFC Middleweight Contender), Uriah Hall (Retired Top UFC Middleweight), Kelvin Gastelum (The Ultimate Fighter Season 17 winner and UFC Middleweight Contender), and Jake Ellenberger (UFC Welterweight Contender). 

This world class training was extremely intense and brought its fair share of triumphs, struggles, and lessons that can’t be learned in a classroom. 

In 2016 Logan got injured and was forced to regroup and reevaluate his training. Logan never stopped coaching, but took it upon himself to receive a Personal Training Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine so that he could arm himself with the knowledge he needed to fix his injury. 

Mentally, Logan had everything it took to be an elite level athlete, but his health did not allow his abilities to shine. It was a bitter pill for Logan to swallow, but he made the best of it and spent his time understanding how to make sure that THIS did not happen to him or anyone else ever again. 

In 2017 Logan became a personal trainer at a commercial gym who, for now, shall remain nameless, as he quickly discovered that the constraints of a 25 minute session in addition to the fact that they only gave him one uniform that he was expected to wear every single day was not something that he wanted to deal with. But Logan, actually wanting to help people, found an excellent way to make things work. Logan worked for this company for over two years. 

Luckily, Logan found a private gym more suited to his intentions that placed emphasis on further educating their coaches in addition to taking a more comprehensive approach to addressing someone’s health. Logan began working for this gym in 2019. 

Well, we all know what happened in 2020 and this led to complications where Logan was working at the time. 

In 2020 Logan founded his company Stronyx Fitness, an online comprehensive approach to fitness and performance, but this did not fulfill Logan’s need to coach people in person.  

Logan began coaching wrestling with Dr. Mike Krufka who showed him Capistrano Boxing Gym and the rest is history…

Hybrid training is when part of your training program is done in-person with your coach while the other sessions are done on your own through our training app. This allows for greater flexibility and is more affordable.

Women's Small Group Training

This group is a space for women only. It’s especially important for women to resistance train to not just strengthen muscle, but also improve bone mineral density and connective tissue strength. We do this in a beginner/novice friendly environment and focus on living a healthy lifestyle through improving sleep, reducing stress, and making nutrition a moderate and enjoyable way to achieve your health and fitness goals.
